The 2011-2012 season player birth date range for each group is as follows:

For the purpose of team formation by age, a soccer year runs from August to July of the following year.
For example, a child born on or between August 1, 2005 and July 31, 2007 is placed in the "Under six years of age" group (U6) for the 2011-2012 soccer year (August-July) . That child will continue playing in the "Under 6 " age group, even if they turn 6 years old sometime during that "soccer year". If they do turn six, they will be in the U8 age group next "soccer year".
Note: You may also see odd numbered age groups U5, U7, U9, etc. referred to occasionally. For the purposes of administration and tryouts, EGSA groups players together using even number years, so our U6 age group includes U5. Our U8 age group includes U7 and so on.
