The East Greenwich Soccer Association provides a recreational soccer league for children ages 4 (U5) to 15 (U16).

Soccer offers a child the opportunity to participate in a team sport, to enhance their physical fitness and self confidence, and to learn good sportsmanship and the benefits of team play.  This is all accomplished while developing sound soccer skills.

Our recreational program teaches the game of soccer in a fun, stress-free and supportive environment.  Tryouts are not required for the recreational program.  New players,  of all ages and abilities, are encouraged to join the league!  All you need to do is register your child for each session during the registration period.

The recreational season is divided into two sessions:

  • U4-U16 Fall outdoor session (Sept - Nov)  Registration opens after the prior spring session
  • U4-U8 Spring outdoor session (Apr - Jun)  Registration opens after the prior fall session

EGSA recreational teams are formed by school year (9/1 to 8/31). (Note: Competitive teams are formed by birth year)

U4/U5 "Little Kickers" Program
The Little Kickers program is a fun and fundamental introduction to soccer for players in our youngest age groups.  U4 and U5 players will learn the foundational skills of soccer through exciting games, drills, and scrimmages in weekly 45-minute clinics.
The program curriculum has been created to promote and enhance the key areas of child development with a major focus on fun!! Little Kickers coaches help kids learn to use soccer as a way to develop balance, agility, and coordination while increasing their confidence and social skills. Players will learn ball control & dribbling techniques, turning, shooting, passing, and the fundamentals of team play.
This program requires 4-5 parent coaches to support the professional coaches each week.  No experience required!

U6 - U10 Divisions
Our U6-U10 recreational program focuses on ball familiarity and developing a passion for the game. Basic concepts and strategy are introduced, including the concept of team play.  Players are assigned to a team with 1 or 2 parent coaches.  Weekday training clinics are run by professional coaches, which include small-sided scrimmages (3v3, 4v4).  Teams participate in one weekend game.
